Give Your Boss A Boss Gift

This month we celebrate bosses everywhere on October 16th with Bosses Day. This National observance began in 1928 when Patricia Bays Haroski, a secretary for State Farm Insurance in Cleveland, realized her boss’s hard work often went unnoticed. Since her boss also happened to be her father, she chose his birthday as the date for acknowledging all bosses everywhere for their tireless efforts to support and motivate their employees. The official date was enacted by Ohio’s governor four years later. At Julia’s Florist, we have created a wide variety of plants, flowers and gift baskets that will make excellent gifts for your boss this year. Read More about Give Your Boss A Boss Gift »

A Divine Dish Garden For Dad

In honor of Father’s Day, which falls on June 17th this year, we found some interesting history. There are actually two versions of how Father’s Day began in the United States. One includes a Spokane, Washington woman who wanted to honor her own father, a civil war veteran who raised six children on his own after his wife passed away. The other version tells a story of a mining explosion in West Virginia that led to a small church honoring the thousand children left fatherless from the tragedy. In both stories, however, nothing was made official or national until 1966, when Lyndon B. Johnson declared the third Sunday in June to be the official day to celebrate Father’s Day. Richard Nixon followed up in 1972 by declaring the day a National Holiday. At Julia’s Florist, we are happy to honor fathers throughout history and everyday with our wide selection of gifts and plants. Read More about A Divine Dish Garden For Dad »

The entire Julia’s Florist team is thrilled to participate in this event that honors the unsung heroes of most businesses. Read More about Make Your Desktop Happy With Plants And Flowers »

Spring’s The Time For Plants & Planting

The calendar tells us that March 20 is the first day of spring. But when you live along the Atlantic coast, you learn to expect the unexpected. And there’s still a chill in the air. The Julia’s Florist team believes that the best way to chase away the winter chill, and the blahs that accompany it, is by filling your house, your workplace, your office, or work cubicle with plants that bloom. Bring Pantone’s Color Of The Year Into Your Space

Here at Julia’s Florist, however, we see this announcement as an opportunity to share a dramatic, regal, and elegant color with our customers.
