Late Spring Seasonal Designs and Flowers

Spring is a glorious time of year – the spectacular months between winter storms and summer heat coax us outside and encourage us to enjoy the sunshine and breathe deep of the fresh air.  And although the season is currently in full swing, we still have plenty of opportunities to enjoy this time. Here at Julia’s Florist, we wanted to share with you some of our favorite late spring seasonal designs – before the days of summer arrive.

Springtime is all about beautiful color, and Julia’s Florist has created designs that are perfect for any occasion – or no occasion at all!  So whether you need to celebrate a birthday, congratulate a graduate, or simply enjoy springtime in Wilmington – just add flowers! The lavish and beautiful peony is one of the most beloved of the late spring flowers. Peonies add elegance and abundant luxury to any spring floral arrangement, and can also be quite stunning on their own! Their petals are so full and their blooms so large that it is rumored they once inspired the explorer Marco Polo to remark: “they have roses as big as cabbages here!” upon his first sight of them. Peonies are popular for weddings, are symbolic of a 12th wedding anniversary, and are even the national flower of China – that is quite a resume!

Of course, peonies are not the only flowers we use in late spring seasonal designs. We love the vibrancy of orange oriental lilies, the cheerful visage of the iconic sunflower, the verdant brightness of button chrysanthemums, and beauty of spring roses in fuschia. The more vivid color the better when it comes to spring flowers – which are your favorites? late spring seasonal designsWe invite you to browse our spring collection – or to give Julia’s Florist a call and ask what is new in our Wilmington shop this week.
