All of us here at Julia’s Florist are gearing up for National Friendship Week. This annual non-official official observance takes place during the third week of August. In 2015, that week occurs between the dates of August 16 and August 22. We’re thrilled to be able to help our customers demonstrate the affection they have for the people they hold dearest to their hearts.

There is a lot of uncertainty as to how Friendship Week evolved. There are bits of information that we do know that may help us gain a better understanding of how what easily could have begun as a single day, turned into a week-long celebration.

In 1930, the founder of Hallmark Cards, Julia Hall, began to promote the idea of a friendship day. The purpose, at least as she envisioned it, was to acknowledge the importance of friendships through cards. August 2 was the designated day because it fell smack dab in the middle of two major holidays.

We have come up with some suggestions that we hope will inspire you to show your special friends, how much they mean to you.
