Do you appreciate your houseplants? If you have houseplants, you should. These little green wonders are farm ore than simply a decorative part of your home. Houseplants help remove toxins from the air, making it cleaner and improving the indoor air quality for your family. January 10 is Houseplant Appreciation Day, and we here at Julia’s Florist want to help you celebrate.
Ideas for Celebrating at Home
Houseplant Appreciation Day is a great day to give your houseplants a little TLC. Take a look around your home. Are there any plants you have forgotten to water? Give them a drink on this holiday. It’s also a great time to add some fertilizer to your plants. Plants need to eat too, after all.
After you’ve fed and watered your plants, then check to see if they need to be trimmed. Trimming dead leaves and overgrowth can keep your plants beautiful and effective for longer as they help make your house more beautiful and improve the indoor air quality of your home.
Finally, consider whether your houseplants need a new spot. Are they getting enough natural light, or maybe too much? If you feel that they haven’t grown and flourished as they should, consider moving them to a spot that is more or less sunny to encourage the right growth.
Add a Houseplant to Your Home
If you don’t have enough houseplants, this day is a great time to add a new one. Julia’s Florist has a variety of beautiful houseplants we can offer. Whether you choose the delicate Arbicola, the flowering Dish Garden or the lush Evergreen Basket, these plants will provide years of beautiful display for your home.
