Can we talk mums for a minute?
November’s ubiquitous golden blooms start appearing in October, mostly because we’re all so excited to herald the arrival of Fall (unless it’s just us at Julia’s Florist, but we don’t think so). We’ve been stacking container mums on our front steps, nestling them around our front door or planting them straight into our flower beds come Fall for what seems forever. Why are they so popular? For starters, they are frost-tolerant. Secondly, they love shorter days. Treated properly, they’ll last through Thanksgiving. And oh yeah, they’re really pretty.
We know you’re seeing the traditional golden buds and blooms everywhere, and they do make a colorful splash. Luckily, all the colors in the mum wheelhouse are both cheerful and seasonal, which is why we love our Autumn Chrysanthemum so much.
Introduce a burnt-orange or amber hue to your entryway to spice up your decor scheme. These mums pick up the color of pumpkins you’ve probably also got clustered around and arrive in a substantial basket that can be used again and again. Tied off with a Fall-pattern bow and raffia and adorned with Fall leaves and a pumpkin, this mum is also gift-ready. We at Julia’s Florist have thought of everything here. All that’s left for you to do is to figure out where you’ll put these hardy beauties.
