Red, White and Blue for Veterans Day

Veterans Day is just around the corner, and here in Wilmington, we’re preparing a bevy of tributes, from parades to observances to personal celebrations in our homes. Our community is rich with heroes, those who served in the U.S. military and spent much of their lives protecting and defending our country. We owe them every parade in the book, but here at Julia’s Florist, we think we owe them flowers, too.

While Veterans Day doesn’t have a designated flower, we have some contenders, all of them within that patriotic red, white, and blue palette we enjoy during those occasions when we honor our country.

There’s something truly spectacular about the colors red, white, and blue, and we’re guessing that the veterans in our community and beyond think so, too. While we may be participating in Veterans Day events here at home, sending flowers to the vets we love who are far away is a meaningful way to offer direct tribute.

Show your pride and please your patriot with something like the Colors Of Our Country arrangement, which makes use of daisies, carnations, and delphinium proudly rising above it all. For good measure, we’ve tucked in an American flag or two and allowed white lilies to explode in front like stars.

This November 11, as you’re participating in the celebratory events in Wilmington, take a minute to remember the veterans who live across the country from you by extending your gratitude in red, white, and blue. Julia’s Florist will do what we can to honor your special vet.
