In early December 2017 when the color gurus at Pantone® announced that Ultra Violet would be their color choice for 2018, we can only imagine that a lot of jaws in the design world dropped. Learning that a passionate shade of purple was their choice for the new year was as startling as it was surprising. Here at Julia’s Florist, however, we see this announcement as an opportunity to share a dramatic, regal, and elegant color with our customers. Make no mistake about it; purple is one of the most magnificent colors for flowers. Read More about Bring Pantone’s Color Of The Year Into Your Space »

At Julia's Florist, we're anticipating one very important holiday that focuses on love coming up in February, and no, we're not talking about Valentine's Day. On February 13th, we hope you'll join us in celebrating Galentine's Day, an occasion dedicated entirely to honoring the friendship between women.
This fictional holiday came about after a 2010 episode of NBC's Parks and Recreation where main character Leslie Knope took all of her besties to lunch after declaring it "the best day of the year" and officially calling it Galentine's Day. The idea took off, and every year, more and more women get their girls together to celebrate their love for each other. Read More about Gather Your Gals (And The Flowers) For Galentine’s Day »

Sometimes all a person needs when they're feeling sick is a good dose of sunshine and a reminder that they will recover. Flowers can give both, promoting a general sense of well being and optimism. Studies show that hospitalized patients who have flowers or potted plants in their rooms use less pain medication and have lower blood pressure overall when compared to their flower-less counterparts. In fact, the benefits of flowers are so established it's hard not to see them as the best possible thing to administer promptly to anyone who may be suffering from a cold or the flu.
We at Julia's Florist are keenly aware of all of the benefits flowers offer to a person who feels under the weather. Read More about Thoughtful Flowers To Help Healing »

Flowers are such a welcome part of winter. We bring them into our homes to have something fresh and bright to look at, sure, but we also benefit from them mentally. Studies show that fresh flowers enhance our mood, improve our outlook and contribute to our mental focus. We here at Julia's Florist can think of no reason not to have them in the home every season, but especially during this one, when the days are short, the nights long and the landscape outside a bit bleak.
